Where TFT on Mac stands

Teamfight Tactics left macOS when Set 18 moved the game to Unreal Engine. Everything Riot has said about bringing it back, and when the Mac version reached the Public Beta Environment (PBE), dated and linked to the source.

Where it stands now

Still unavailable as of October 17, 2026: not on the live servers since patch 18.1 (August 26, 2026), and not on PBE either. The macOS version went live on PBE on September 16, then was taken off PBE by September 25 for testing that, a Riot developer said, required reverting the PBE build off the new client. Players reported it still unavailable on PBE on October 10. Riot has given no patch or date for its return.

  1. Player report

A player asks why the TFT client will not start on PBE on a Mac. Another player replies that the client changes were rolled back entirely, Mac included. No Riot reply in the thread.

  3. Riot developer on Reddit

Later the same day, asked when Mac will reach the live servers, More_Synergy replies: "No timeline to share yet, and that's intentional - less concerns over stability or big issues that we've seen explicitly, and just wanting to make sure we get it right & reducing chances of unforced errors with the update. We don't want to leave y'all hanging, so as soon as we know exactly when it's going to Live servers, we'll let everyone know."

  4. Riot developer on Reddit

After players report that macOS is unavailable on PBE following an update, Riot developer More_Synergy replies: "Heyo, the team is doing some testing that required reverting the PBE build off of the new client, macOS will be unavailable on PBE while that testing is ongoing. Likely to be a full PBE cycle or two, but we'll provide updates when it's going back online & getting ready for shipping to live."

  5. Riot

Riot's specifications page now says that as of patch 18.2, TFT on Mac is limited to the PBE servers because of the Unreal Engine migration. The Mac minimum it lists is an Apple M1 with macOS 12, 8GB of unified memory and 40GB of free storage. Intel Macs are not supported.

  6. Riot developer on Reddit

Riot developer RiotCapretto announces on Reddit: "a few minutes ago, we went live to PBE with our MacOS version of TFT on the Unreal engine." The post asks Mac players for feedback on stuttering and heat.

  7. Riot

Patch 18.1 goes live and Set 18, Enchanted Wilds, launches on Unreal Engine. Riot's migration FAQ names this as the patch where TFT "will temporarily lose support for MacOS", says Riot is "working hard to get MacOS native support back online early in Enchanted Wilds", and that accounts are not affected.

  8. Riot

The TFT team's Enchanted Wilds PBE check-in video lists "MacOS native support later in Enchanted Wilds" among the topics it covers.

  9. Riot

The official TFT account confirms the drop: "TFT 18.1 won't support MacOS, but we're working to support the OS in a future update." Riot updates its support FAQ with the details the same day.

  10. Riot
